I have been ranking our back to school weeks on a scale of 1-10, hoping for a gradual improvement each week as week found our groove again.
Have we ever had a groove though?
Wishful thinking perhaps?
This week I would give academics 4/10.
BUT Merle decided that she was going to try and learn to sew this week, and Roo began to teach herself how to play the piano/keyboard.
Soooo, all was not lost. I wouldn’t entirely write the week off because those are both positive skills to have.
Plus the fact that these were things they each decided they wanted to on their own without any push from me was a nice change.
This weekend I am going to help the teenager motivate herself to get her room sorted.
The girls actually share a room but her stuff has taken over every single corner and it needs to be dealt with.
If anything in the house goes missing, it is probably in there because she is like a crow. She walks around collecting things.
As for the thing that shall not be named….cases are once again on the rise here but they are getting much better at documenting and tracing.
Sigh.
That is about all that I can muster at the moment.
Stay safe.
