So we are a weekend into this “social distancing” and how are we coping? It’s not really bothering me in the sense of being stir crazy.

It reminds me of when I was a kid and the endlessly long summer days of doing absolutely nothing and having to find ways to entertain yourself. Which you did because if you mentioned the word “bored” to your mom she instantly supplied you with a whole list of non-fun things to do.

The second photo above is of the boots that I bought from Poshmark from the seller that screwed me on the first pair of boots. She did good with these and I am super happy with them. They fit perfect. I was a little concerned because they were listed as a 39/9 and I figured I would need to put in an insole, but they fit like an 8.

I also ordered this sweater from Zara and I am super thankful that they have a 30 day return period because it was a pretty entertaining try on. I was hoping for a cute spring sweater and what I got was a good laugh.

The little pom-pom things on the front perfectly align with my nipples and it’s not a very good look 😉 I would have posted a picture but I really don’t need that on the internet forever.

It’s pretty quiet outside, I haven’t gone out to see but it sounds extra quiet today. You can usually hear kids playing when it’s this sunny. It wasn’t warm today but that never stops anyone here.

There are also a lot of people hanging out on their balconies at the moment watching the sun go down. I highly doubt we’ll get any singing here though it would be nice.

Keep your chin up and have a great week.

  1. Whoa Nelly, did you ever rock style this week. I am especially bowled over by your second outfit. It’s nothing short of spectacular, Sara, certainly one of your very best.

We are not at the balcony stage here as yet. Still in the buying out the few local stores phase. Meanwhile and according to my husband—while I was singing in the shower—there was an 80 MPH police chase around the neighborhood and right down our street…ending in a crash a street or so over. That’s a first (no repeat would be fine with me). Thank goodness there were no children out playing nearby.

Here’s to everyone coming to their right minds and to better days. Cheers, Ardith

    • Thanks Ardith! I was contemplating not keeping that jacket but once I got it on it was meant to be. It would be cool if the thrifting gods blessed me with another in a different colour too. Red, navy, mustard, green? I’d take any or all 😂

I’m glad you missed that car chase because that is the last thing you need to witness when you are feeling anxiety. People are such assholes.

I had to hit up a grocery store today and it wasn’t nearly as bad. The shelves still need some restocking but I found a package of toilet paper and some boxes of Kleenex so that’s a positive start 😂

  2. this honestly doesn’t feel real. my work just told us this evening that we are on an emergency telework effective immediately, and this will be my first time working from home. for as many years that i’ve bitched that i can do 90% of my job from home, it’s a bit “oh crap!” at the moment, especially with everything else going on. we had to go out to the mall so my husband could try and get 3 (!) watches repaired. it felt a bit weird, you could almost feel this sense of foreboding…like this was gonna be it before they completely shut down everything. we’re still waiting to hear from the airlines to officially cancel our flights to the UK and former soviet republic of Georgia…otherwise, just rolling with the punches! stay safe and thank you for the previous post, i will definitely be revisiting some old books that i love.

    • I don’t blame you for getting freaked working at home no matter how prepared you were. This is such a weird circumstance that everyone is kind of “what the fuck?” right now.

I went into the mall today because that’s where our closest grocery store is and about 60% of the shops were shuttered. I expect more tomorrow since the government announced all restaurants will be closed except for drive thru or delivery. It’s surreal.

I’m sure the trip cancellations will be coming, I’ve been seeing a lot of them online. I hope you’ll be able to reschedule once everything gets back to a sense of normalcy.
