I thought this Friday was Black Friday and I was kind of excited to see what deals I could find. Now I am disappointed and feel like I shouldn’t wait to buy the things that I have planned for Christmas because if I wait until then, they may not arrive in time.

I’m already dealing with some bullshit of ordering Tom a birthday present two weeks ago and it still hasn’t shipped yet. His birthday is on Tuesday so now I don’t have a gift 🙁

Are you one of those people that wait until Black Friday to start holiday shopping?

I am FREEZING right now. Everyone in this house seems to run hot except me, so they like to leave some windows open a crack. I don’t mind it at night when I can hide under the covers, but right now I am in an oversized flannel shirt, pyjama bottoms, fuzzy socks, slippers, and I have a blanket thrown over me and I am still frozen. Meanwhile, Merle just walked buy with no socks on and short sleeves. I don’t get it.

Tom had to leave for work at 3:30 am this morning and I’m not going to like, I was looking forward to a bed all to myself until I crawled back in and there was a kid wearing a Santa hat in there, and a cat sleeping in the spot that my legs go. So much for that idea.

I was feeling really unmotivated today so I caved and ordered McDonald’s for delivery. Not my best decision but it is relatively inexpensive and always gets here really fast.

I need to find a decent recipe for a chocolate raspberry cheesecake to make for Tom’s birthday. He tends to stick to the cheesecake theme whenever I ask him what kind of cake he wants. So if you know a good one that isn’t white chocolate (I hate white chocolate) then send it over to me before Tuesday, please 🙂

  1. Sorry Sara, I don’t have a chocolate raspberry cheesecake recipe I can recommend. The most amazing, most requested, cheesecake I’ve ever made was a version with cranberry compote from Susan Simon–from her “The Nantucket Holiday Table” cookbook. I hope you find just the right chocolate raspberry version for Tom’s birthday.

    • It’s okay Ardith, I found one that looks really good. I’m just going to swap out the white chocolate for dark and hope that it works. I am about to bake the cake now so fingers crossed 🙂
