It was the Vintage Toy Convention again today weekend. I think they like to squeeze one in before Christmas to hit up people like us because it was PACKED 😉

It actually made it hard because there were a few things there that I have already bought Merle for Christmas and I had to dance around that when she got excited over them without admitting to her that I had already bought them.

It is 5 o’clock here ( as I write this) and it is already black outside. While I like winter, I am not a big fan of Daylight Savings Time. I am in full support if our province chooses to abolish it like many countries already are. How do you feel about it?

In my last Instagram post, I was talking about how every year sometime in November Merle decides that it is time to read the Grinch. She slaps on her Christmas hat (which she sleeps in btw) then proceeds to make me read it every night until Christmas.

We have the 50th-anniversary edition of the book that was given to Roo when she was young. Merle wanted to know how old the book is now so we did some quick google searches to see Dr Seuss wrote it in 1957.

Side note: we do a lot of Google searches when we read because she tends to have a million questions about things in the stories that I can’t always answer.

At the same time, as the search, I also saw that he was born in 1904, so I had an epiphany moment when I read this part, “Why, for 53 years I have put up with it now.” When I realized that he was 53 when he wrote this story and I wondered if it was somewhat autobiographical. I found this article about it and saw that Dr Seuss was, in fact, the Grinch. It brings a whole new meaning to the book now 🙂
