SHOP THE POST

This has officially become the “Sara Get Your Shit Together” week by default since there is actually only one week left before summer break is over…..which is totally stressing me out even though it is completely my fault.

Yesterday we went to Fan Expo and while it is always fun it is also extremely draining because there are so many people in attendance. They changed the weekend from Labour Day weekend to the weekend before this year.

I assume it is because such a huge demographic of theirs are college age students and Labour Day weekend tends to be a really busy weekend for those going to school.

We didn’t get home until 10pm, and by then I had a rip roaring headache and went to bed. Thankfully the kids are at an age that they need minimal guidance in their bedtime routine except for me to keep harassing them otherwise they will be up until 3am.

Merle still gets a bedtime story so I managed to read her a chapter before crawling into bed. I’ll admit that it was nice to go to bed at a halfway decent time. It’s been a while since I closed my eyes by 12am.

Today I have a little bit of extra energy which is probably more from 3 coffees than it is from adequate sleep.  I managed to get several loads of laundry completed before I ran out of detergent, and pizza was ordered.

Next up is some meal planning, and grocery ordering for tomorrow. And I need to figure out what school books I still need to order as well. At least I remembered to get some printer ink to prepare myself for all of the shit that I need to set up in binders this week.

I can’t believe that I actually allowed myself to procrastinate this badly. Summer once again flew by and I have barely anything to show for it.

  1. Love, love, love that dress, Sara.

Meanwhile, I hope your school-planning super powers kick in this week. You certainly have the skills and talent, and I always look forward to reading about your curriculum and book selections.

While I’m not a fan of big crowds, I do enjoy getting together with interesting people. Saturday night we had our neighbors and a few non-local friends over and had a wonderful time. All though, it turns out our A/C went out sometime the night. Sooo, it was stupid hot yesterday and today it’s supposed to reach 106 degree F. Praying the HVAC guys can come by this morning to get our freon on.

I will keep an eye out for your school planning updates. Cheers, Ardith

    • I’m still slacking. It’s getting ridiculous. I think I may pull everything together and document it in a post. Even if there is no interest at least it solidifies things for me and makes me accountable 😉

The loss of a/c truly sucks. I used to live in a house that had that happen constantly and it was awful. I hope you guys got it fixed asap. It’s a little cooler here right now so it is wonderful. Our building has central air and it has only broken down once which was repaired quickly. It was during one of the hottest times though.

      • Perhaps re-reading your related posts from the past couple of years might help inspire you. Your excitement with your choices was clear and resonated quite a bit with me. Also, whatever your girls are into these days might translate into some interesting schooling choices.

        • If I could find something great that involved gaming then my oldest would love that for an elective credit 😂 Merle likes cats and engineering. I’m just tired. My dad’s been having health problems, my mom is super stressed because of it. It is just leaving me unmotivated.
