I was pretty stoked to see that two shows I enjoyed last summer have their season two up on Netflix now. The Letdown, and Derry Girls are both great if you are looking for something to watch. Derry Girls has a great soundtrack too.

It is a long weekend here, and my birthday is on Tuesday. The big 4-0 and it is stressing me out a little bit now that it is so close. I think I need to invest in some heavy duty eye cream to help battle it. Any recommendations for a really good eye cream?

I bought Merle the box set of all the Alvin and Chipmunks movies because it was at Walmart in the sale bin and she loves Alvin. I’m not going to lie, the little chipmunk voices are driving me batshit :/

Have a good one!

Weekly Reads (and maybe videos):

The Library of Congress needs help transcribing 16,000 pages of Suffragist diaries, letters, and documents. So if you are a good typist who also has skill at deciphering old handwriting it might be worthwhile to donate some time to this good cause.

How women got dressed in the 14th and 18th centuries. I collect books on fashion through history, so if you know of a good one let me know below.

The authentic Pachelbel’s Canon.

Inside Nirvana’s darkest song.

The story behind Annie the CPR Dummy which is super fascinating. During CPR classes you are taught to say “Annie are you ok?” which is a super famous song line in a super famous song. So history, moves to art, science, and then to music. So awesome.

B-Box: The hive designed for home beekeeping. Awesome.

Mont Saint Michel from a drone.

How to use a thesaurus to actually improve your writing.

  1. Happy almost birthday, Sara. No worries, you look fabulous and I can tell you from experience that your forties could well be some of your best (if only the workplace was enlightened in this regard). Have a great weekend. Cheers, Ardith

    • Thanks Ardith! I was actually looking forward to it a few months ago but now that it is literally around the corner I am freaking out a little bit. It just seemed to creep up so damn fast which is such a cliche but still so true. I think we are mattress shopping for my birthday. We shall see how that goes…
