I had a challenge this week. Several weeks back I had a request to help with a week-long packing list for New Orléans in April. The catch is that she has a sun sensitivity so she needs coverage while still remaining cool in the humidity.
My oldest daughter has a slight sun sensitivity. While we don’t have to keep her covered we do have to show caution because turns red quickly and is prone to getting overheated and will throw-up (fun). So for this list I tried to stick to fabrics that breathe like cotton, and linen.
The linen pants and maxi skirt/dress are light and airy, a straw hat with a wider brim, and a cotton scarf that can also be used to cover the arms. Both the chambray and kimono are easily layered over to keep the shoulders and arms covered.
A pair of black pants are good for a quick dress up if needed, and for the shoes I stuck with some sneakers, a pair of mules that cut up high enough that the top of the foot isn’t exposed, and the booties have perforations to allow air through.
I planned about 10+ days worth of clothes but you could easily take out some pieces to cut it down. The outfit options for this list will be in the next post.
