Time goes by so fast and life just seems to happen some weeks within a blink of an eye. Yesterday was my Birthday. I’m not a big celebrating birthdays type of person. Even the kids get small family orientated birthdays spending the day doing what they pick out. So yesterday kind of felt like any old other day except I bought a few things for me which I find hard to do. Any one else out there got to a store with the intention of buying yourself something nice and then end up spending the money on your kids instead?

Tis’ the season to find swimsuits for a great price. Even though August just began I noticed that stores are clearing out their summer stock to make room for fall and back to school fashion, so this is a good time to buy that swimsuit you might have wanted at the beginning of the season but couldn’t justify the cost. I’m not a person who has a million expensive purses. I’m not even a person who has one expensive purse.  That’s doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t like at least one though, it just means that I have never justified the cost so I have stuck with affordable. I also like a really big purse. I never bothered to carry a diaper bag when my kids were young, I just threw everything in my large purse and it did the job because I didn’t like the look of diaper bags in my price range. Fall and Winter Capsule Shopping List

It’s that time of the season to be thinking about building and transitioning to a fall wardrobe. I have picked the kids up a few pieces at a time and while I am doing that I am always checking the new fall stock for me. I was going through my closet and deciding what things I could bring forward to fall and winter to get an idea of what I would need to buy. I enjoyed having a capsule wardrobe last season and I plan on sticking with it for now. Since fall is so short around here having a more winter-based cold season based wardrobe makes a lot more sense. It’s easier to dress down for an unexpected warm day than it is to layer up if you don’t have enough cold weather options. Continue Reading →

My dad is adopted. When I was in college my grandmother, his mother passed away. I was really sad for my dad because he didn’t have anyone left, aside from us obviously. His dad passed when my parents first married, he didn’t have any brothers or sisters, or close cousins. It was like that part of his life was gone entirely and it broke my heart. Continue Reading →
