I’m searching through Netflix and a trailer appears at the top of the page and sucks me right in. I’m like, “Is this a baking show? Is it a weird comedy? I have to know.” Needless to say it sucked me in to the complete weirdness that is The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell.
After the ridiculously hot summer temperatures from the first half of the week, it totally plummeted today. All the windows are wide and we are dressed in layers. I kind of wish we had a fire-place because this is totally the weather for it. I’m looking forward to having this simmering on the stove all day.
As you can see from my finds this weeks that I am loving that we are back in to coat season. There are so many good ones rights now.
Every time I go on to the Target website I get even more upset that they closed down in Canada. There is so much great stuff……there always has been, but it seems like they are getting better and better styles and brands. When I was scrolling through the pages I saw that they have some completely awesome band tees for kids, and if I had access I would by them all.
It’s Thanksgiving weekend here and I can’t believe we have already reached that part of the holiday season. I think dinner is going to be short ribs thanks to a very generous fellow instagrammer. She emailed me some recipes that look amazing and not super time intensive which is one of the main things that I hate about holiday cooking.
I also think that I am going to work on the Halloween costumes over the next few days just in case I run into issues and need to make some changes. Does anyone know where to find a pattern online for the medieval/elf style shoes that go up at the toe? Bonus points if it is in an easy to sew pattern 😉
Can I just say how much I am loving these new Ikea bookshelves? They hold so much more stuff on them than the old ones, and I’m able to find homes for all the random things that have hung around with no place to go. We also purged quite a few big pieces this weekend and dropped them off at Value Village. The living room is now less cluttered and we actually have a decent spot to put the Christmas tree. You know you live in a small place when you have to get rid of an arm-chair to have a spot to put the tree;)
I have a headache the moment and wish that I could just go and crawl in to bed, but I promised that I would get the last shelf built today and since we were out all day it looks like it is my late night project. I think after 4 years this apartment is finally coming together, and now all I need is to get it all painted white so that is looks a little more spacious. The people before us painted the wall tan and the heating ducts dark brown so it looks really dark in here. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to paint something that you DON’T want to draw attention to such a dark colour.
*I bought that oversized black cardigan from Zara but returned it because it has wool and mohair in it and it is itchy. After I returned it I received a few messages on Instagram telling me how I could soften it to get rid of the itchiness so I am tempted to reorder it because it was exactly the style of cardigan on my wishlist. Do any of you have a tried and true way to soften up itchy sweaters?
