As I write this it is Sunday afternoon and I am sweating because it is 20°C+ today. Our condo has certain times of the year where they will switch from heat to air conditioning and from central air back to heat. Usually the heat gets switched on at the beginning of November and the central air goes on Victoria Day weekend (towards the end of May) so if it gets cold or hot on off-season times you have to suffer 😉 I’m not complaining thought because we don’t pay for either, it is included in our rent. It would be nice to have a little cross breeze coming through the windows though.

I just started watching Girlboss and so far I love it. I can kind of relate to the beginning where she sells vintage clothes on Ebay. I used to do that too in the Early to mid 2000’s and to quit due to Ebay’s policies and it changing way too much to be profitable anymore. It was fun though and I totally miss those days on Ebay. And while I am on topic of buying and selling clothes on Ebay I found a killer pair of Converse at Value Village on Saturday. They are an off-white with silver studs on the side Have yet to take a picture). They were only $6.99 and I got 30% off because we had a discount coupon for donating a lot of things. It literally pays to purge your closet and home. Roo found a million t-shirts as well. I wish there was one a little closer (like walkable) so we could hit it on weekdays instead of weekends when Tom isn’t working and the car is home.

It’s the end of an era and my old college watering hole is closing after 152 years. This is depressing in a “I can’t believe it’s over” sort of way. So many great memories, many of which are foggy, and one which ended in “borrowing” a bike and doing a drunk biking pub crawl.

* I posted the picture of this pink dress on Instagram asking for opinions about it. I bought it because I liked the print and colour, but I don’t really like wearing short dresses. The dress’ hem is unfinished so it would be easy to shorten it a couple of inches to have it as a long tee/tunic top. I got mixed opinions on whether to shorten it or leave it so what do you think?

What to Wear for one Month in the UK and France – June

What a short week, I can’t believe that Friday is here already. I’m starting to feel that I need one of those big planners to plan my week out because I am one of those people who do better with lists and boxes to tick and this week felt like it went by without ticking off any boxes :/ At this point I feel like I am constantly trying to figure out what I am supposed to do each day to maximize productivity and am failing miserably.

Last post I responded to a request for What to Pack for a Month in the UK and France in June. This post I put together 30 outfits from those pieces with room to make many more combinations. You could go the whole 30 days and not wear the same outfit twice. If you go to the original post it explains the details and what the weather will be like. With an average of 18-20°C you should be all right with any of these outfits and if the days get unseasonably hot, or damp and cold you will have options for those says as well.

If you are going to have access to laundry regularly and don’t mind wearing the same outfits on repeat you could easily bring even less with you. Remember that one of these outfits will be your travel outfit, the rest should easily pack (especially if rolled).

The rain and damp has come full force but I am not going to complain because it will come out green with flowers. We are still waiting for the tulips to pop up. Is it full spring where you are yet?

Cleaning tactic 101: “accidentally” let is slip that the easter Bunny need cleans places to hide chocolate. My 6-year-old was scrubbing baseboards and wiping dust off of shelves. I need to figure out someway to bring this kind of motivation in to our daily lives 😉

As per usually we hit the Value Villages on a weekly basis, and when Tom went before work last week he found Merle a pair of barely worn, floral, leather, 8 hole Doc Marten’s in size 1. They are slightly big but will be a perfect fit and boot for fall. Roo is jealous because she grew out of her Doc’s and wants another pair but since she has moved in to women’s sizes in footwear the cost for Doc Marten’s for her has quadrupled so we haven’t replaced them yet.

I’ve recently discovered two Spotify playlists that are like being reunited with old friends (one an Instagram friend told me about)  and the other I came across accidentally. Between the two I get my fill of my favourite musical time period (aside from 80’s music which I adore). I’m sure my kids roll their eyes every time I turn my music on, although Merle has decided that she likes The Cranberries. True story: I kind of met Dolores O’Riordan once years ago when I was managing the skateboard shop West49. She had a cottage nearby (where I lived was considered part of cottage country) and was at the mall. That was probably the highlight of my time working there.

As per usually the weekend flew by even though it was a long one. Here’s to a shorter week (for those that have Monday off). I hope you all have a good one 🙂

What to Wear in Madrid, Spain in Summer – Outfit Options

What to Wear in Madrid Spain 18 Outfit Options Packing Light List #packinglist #packinglight #travellight #travel #livelovesara

I almost forgot to post this. Long weekends throw me off and I totally thought it was Saturday (when I don’t usually post) so I neglected to publish this until now.

When I do the “What to Wear” posts I generally have two large collages with 10-12 outfits on each one, but this week I have changed it just a little. Since this trip is for 10 days there really isn’t any need for 25-30 outfit so I made one collage with 18 options. There is still definitely a lot more that you can put together with the pieces from the What to Pack for Madrid, Spain in summer packing light list from last day. These are just a general idea of what types of outfits you can wear for various outings.

During the summer months Madrid is quite hot and humid so packing lightweight, loose, and comfortable clothing is key. Dresses, wide leg pants, shorts, and light denim (for cooler indoors and nighttime) are the basics. Then add in a mixture of tops, a sweater, and some shoes, and accessories (don’t forget the hat). I like items that can be used in different ways like the shirt dress, which has several uses besides a dress. It can be worn as a swimsuit cover, layered under a sweater, and worn open over other dresses, shorts, or pants. Versatile pieces allow you to stretch out your travel wardrobe and become more creative which is what packing light is all about.

If you are heading out for a warm weather destination soon let me know what your must bring wardrobe piece is. I’d love to hear what everyone’s favourites are.

Have a great long weekend guys!
