I made the mistake of going in to Walmart today. I wasn’t thinking about it being Back to School time (school starts back after Labour Day Weekend here), and Walmart Back to School shopping is insanity.
I’m sure that Target back to school shopping is also insanity….maybe even more so with all the die hard Target lovers but since we no longer have Target here (which I have still not got over) Walmart is the go-to for pretty much everyone.
So my “simple” errand out to pick up a few things was almost enough to make me want to run home and not come out until everyone is back in school. I definitely will not be going next weekend, I have learned my lesson.
Although today I did get to do a good perusal around Simons, and I could easily do a shopping spree there if I had the money regardless of crowds.
Simons is a Canadian department store that started out as a small little shop in Quebec in 1840, and grew larger expanding across the country.
I actually hadn’t shopped there before until they opened one nearby, but they have a lot of great pieces at varying price ranges. They also have some great and unique home pieces as well.
It’s where I found Merle’s cat duvet (hers is white though). It’s also one of the only stores that Roo finds things that she likes, aside from Uniqlo. Side note: I really want this duvet from there.
Speaking of Roo, it always makes me laugh when she shows me something that she really likes and it resembles something that I wore when I was her age.
She likes these platform loafers, and I had a pair just like those when I was 16. Although mine were a navy blue leather. A friend bought the same pair as me and I remember being super pissed about it. Life is funny.
