Weekly Secondhand Finds (Vol. XCIV)

A white background with a collection of 24 finds from the past week.

This week I wanted to give you a glimpse into my own preloved wish list. Not like a need-to-find-the-pieces-immediately kind of list, but the kind to remind me what to keep an eye out for whenever I am secondhand shopping.

If I don’t jot things down when I think about them, then I will absolutely not remember (thanks, perimenopausal brain) and then with the bad luck that I have, I will miss the exact thing I am looking for.

So keep a list, people. I have one in my phone notes, as well as a pen and paper because writing things down makes it feel more official to me. Plus, I enjoy analogue.

One of the main things that I am searching for is a snake print jacket.

I am not sure if I want long, mid, or short length or even what colour snake print. This is one of those; you will know when you see it situations.

So I have a mid-length jacket here, but also a patchwork that includes different animal prints. I like both of these a lot.

Next up are vintage Ralph Lauren cotton sweaters, men’s sizing to get that oversized fit.

I want an array of colours, but I am really seeking striped, especially a green and navy like this one.

Then we have some Y2K-era square-toe Prada heels. These and 90s square-toe Miu Miu Mary Janes are my forever search.

And have been for a VERY long time.

Coloured vintage leather jackets. I am not picky about colour, but I need the colour and cut to be my vibe.

This blue 90s minimalist style is leaning in the right direction.

After that, we have an Issey Miyake Bao Bao tote. I have the small Bao Bao bag that I love, but I have been wanting this in a large tote as well. The price is great on this one compared to what they usually go for.

I have been searching for a multi-strand vintage pearl necklace for a very long time as well. And while I have found ones over the years that I really want, they usually sell before I have the chance to get one.

I hold out hope that I will find one in the wild at a thrift store some day.

Next up is a vintage leather jacket but in a roomy, cropped silhouette. This one is Wilson’s Leather, which is a fantastic brand.

I’m a shoe person. I used to not think I was, but I definitely am. My wardrobe consists of two pairs of oxfords, one neutral and one blue, but I would really like a pair in an animal print or old colour.

And sticking which footwear, green boots are on my list. These are a deep bottle green, so they aren’t overt in their colour, but they are really beautiful. I love bottle green.

How about velvet jackets? The shape of this one caught my eye, plus it is a deep green, which is one of my favourites. I want to paint my walls this colour some day.

A vintage red Puma t-shirt has only been on my list for a few weeks now, but is definitely something I am keeping an eye out for at thrift stores.

I feel like this one is much more attainable than some of the others.

As we know, I am a tailcoat lover, but I am also seeking a feminine version of one. Something with a shape like a peplum-ish waist and/or puffy shoulders and flared sleeves.

I also really like the striped fabric on this.

Men’s grey wool trousers in an oversized fit that I also want to get suspenders to wear with, kind of like 80s Bananarama.

And for the last two I am sharing today, I really like the Frye clogs. I have the Frye Engineer boots, and these are the clog version. They are pretty badass.

Then to round it out, a leather tote in a bold colour. This is like a chartreuse, which is my favourite colour, but I would also like a bright blue, purple, red, metallic, maybe even a checkerboard pattern.

And that is it, friends.

A little peek into some of the things that are on my ongoing preloved wish list. And now it is time to make yours.
