I ripped one of my favourite pairs of jeans today. The fly cover got caught on something and ripped at the bottom. At first, I had that instant gut clenching of losing a favourite pair of jeans.

Then I was like, “nope Sara, you are going to fix these.” So I found my iron on denim repair patches, found the closet matching colour and ironed on the inside of the rip.

Then I borrowed some matching blue thread from my youngest, because she is the only one with a sewing kit right now, and I stitched the closed through the patch to strengthen it.

And while you can see it if you look up close, it isn’t noticeable from a normal distance.

I can’t believe for a split second I actually thought that they were done. I guess in today’s world, it’s often “easier” to throw it out and replace it than it is to repair it which is sad and wasteful.

These jeans were perfectly broken in, and still have so much life left. I’m glad I was able to repair them, and now I want to search online for a secondhand back-up pair.

Side note: I went to Spirit again (twice) this week as we often do. We go as much as possible before the season closes, and they had the Miss Argentina mug back in stock that I saw on the say it opened.

I regretted not buying it then, so I grabbed it. It holds quite a bit of coffee, and I am happy to have a back-up to my Lionel Richie “Hello. Is it tea you’re looking for?” mug.
