I wore a sweater out this morning, and it was amazing. It had that brisk bite to the air early in the day, but it was hotter again by this afternoon. I still wore the sweater, though.
Both out of spite and because I hate making multiple outfit changes in a day.
This week is fall-focused, because there is no point in thinking about summer anymore. If you haven’t needed it yet this summer, you aren’t going to need it over the next few weeks.
I rarely start off with my favourite piece of the post, but I came across this Victorian velvet jacket and fell in love. Look how beautiful it is.
The colour, the frog buttons, the cut. It is stunning.
And speaking of fall, I love myself a good jacket. The more interesting the cut or style, the better, and I really like these suede parts that make it look like it has stripes.
Plus the funnel neck. I do love a good funnel neck jacket.

I have this little cat head charm. I bought it last year, and I keep my eyes open for them because they sell quickly. It’s probably already gone by the time I post this.
They are by Monet and were actually part of a charm bracelet from the 1980s, I believe,
Anyway, you pull the little tassel at the bottom, and the eye blinks. I hang mine off of a long chain. They also come in gold.
The vintage leather pants that I share are usually a 90s straight-leg style, so when I saw these high-rise, ankle-length wide-leg pants, I had to share.

These sporty heel loafers are so damn fun. They are like a preppy, sporty, edgy hybrid and would look so good with any style.
I am considering men’s polo tees a staple for fall. Picture it layered under a V-neck sweater with the bold colour and collar sticking out.
Or how about going back to the 90s and layering a long-sleeve underneath, but this time pair it with some relaxed, dressy trousers, and maybe these shoes so you don’t look like you are going to hang out at the skate park.
And yes, the long-sleeve layered under a short sleeve is back.

This vintage Banana Republic silk camisole is beautiful. I love the neutral tones versus the usual Y2K candy colours that we see.
Fall also makes me want to dress collegiate, like with this vintage Ralph Lauren wool blazer.
It is perfect, and pair it with your straight-leg jeans and loafers for a very early 90s look.

I have an obsession with pocket watches. Hear me out.
Okay, my thought is to get one and attach it to a wallet chain and keep it in my pocket. I have always preferred these analogue watches to an Apple Watch because these are accessories and jewellery, while an Apple Watch is utilitarian.
And check out this beauty of a vintage watch with a rope and chain strap. Imagine wearing it over your sleeve versus under. Let’s wear our old watches for fall and find new ways to wear them.
Yes, I plan on also getting a pocket watch.

Look at how great these old Adidas tearaways are. Keep in mind that they are a men’s medium, so they will fit differently than women’s sizing.
They remind me of a classic khaki pant with a sporty twist, which is perfect for fall.
I am all about the zebra print right now, so I am forever on the search for a zebra print bag.
This tote is a great example of the perfect fall bag, especially if you are a person who usually dresses fairly neutral. Use those shoes and accessories to bring in some really fun visual interest.

Fall also makes me think of 90s minimalism, which then leads to Jil Sander and the epic 90s show where they mixed grey and brown.
I love that show, and it showed me how fashion “rules” were meant to be broken.
This jacket is well-loved, but also has tons of wear left. There is nothing better than a well-worn leather jacket anyway.
These shoes, also by Jil Sander, are minimal in style and then have the gold bangle ankle strap that lets them step out of the minimalist box.

And then finally we have an old T-shirt with Fido Dido. I don’t know why, but I have always loved him. I had a t-shirt way back in the early 90s, but mine was white. I prefer the black, though, because I hate having to work to keep white t-shirts looking white.
I am a very stainy person. I spill a lot of shit on myself.
This shoulder brooch is another piece that I own. It is actually very substantial in size and is like having a little friend sitting on your shoulder.
Because who doesn’t need a little friend on their shoulder?

That is it, friends.
I hope you find yourself some good secondhand treasures to make your fall wardrobe something you are excited to wear.
Oh, I also made a few outfits out of the pieces in here just so you can see what I am visualising. They are below.
