Weekly Secondhand Finds XLVIII

a collage of different types of women's clothing and accessories. All vintage or secondhand.

I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but these posts often reflect what I have been searching for over the week, so this week you will notice that my current fixation is coats, jackets, and blazers.

Which isn’t surprising because outerwear is one of my favourite parts of dressing.

Every piece I find, I stop and think about how I would wear it to see if it’s something that actually would integrate well into a wardrobe or if I was caught by something fascinating, yet somewhat unwearable.

So, for starters, I want to share my favourite of the day. It would be too small for me and I am devastated because I very much wanted to gett this for myself.

Marithé + Françoise Girbaud has been around since the 60s-ish and actually became world-renowned and famous for their denim and the industrialisation of the stone washing process.

Personally, I love their jackets and blazers, though. I find them to have a very strong Comme des Garçons vibe with their deconstructed style.

I literally spent hours poring over pages and pages of vintage Marithé + Françoise Girbaud on the weekend.

But this jacket is the winner. I don’t think I even need to explain why, because you can tell why I love it by looking at it.

Next, we have the perfect vintage animal print coat, in the most perfect vintage room.

These shoes are so stunning. They have a block heel and feel so 90s to me. I can envision them with some well-worn Levi’s, a t-shirt or bodysuit, and a leather jacket.

An outfit straight from the 90s.

Do you love velvet as much as I do? There is something so lush about a velvet jacket in a jewel tone.

My obsession with vintage Ralph Lauren knows no bounds.

This first safari-esque style jacket is a great example of a vintage piece that looks modern. Like I could walk into Zara and see this hanging there.

This second one is no doubt 90s and would look AMAZING paired with those Dries shoes from above. I love both of these.

Welcome to another Furla bag.

This one is a black pebbled leather and such a great shape. I love a top handle bag, but this one has shoulder strap hooks a well.

As a non-smoker, I do love a fun vintage ashtray and this hand really caught my eye. I would scoop this up if I saw it in a secondhand shop.

Furla Bag | Hand Ash Tray

This Tods bag is a calf hair, leather hybrid and is Y2K. It looks Y2K, and that is what I love about it. I am really enjoying the resurgence of Y2K era bags.

This vintage animal print jacket is a shorter cut for those who have a preference.

I personally am seeking an ankle-length one that seems elusive at the moment, but this is perfect if shorter is more your style.

I love the large print; it is an identical print to Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s iconic vintage coat.

Vintage Gap leather for the win. Always keep an eye out for these treasures. It was the Prime of the Gap Era.

Did you hear that Gap is supposed to be bringing back their 90s perfumes?

I have mentioned a million times that I love vintage Sonia Rykiel, and this asymmetrical jacket is a good example of why.

This would be amazing paired with some vintage jeans and slouchy boots. Embracing the open inverted V to show a bit of skin, or if that isn’t your thing, a tank or lacy camisole.

Bally leather is quality, and these wedge boots really caught my eye. They would look great with cuffed jeans or cropped trousers.

The star of the show is this koi necklace, though. This is a glorious piece and one that I really want for myself.

Really.

A lot.

Jil Sander has the best minimalist flats.

These kind of make me think of mummy wrappings, and I am so on board with that.

And lastly, do you love a classic? You can’t get more classic than these vintage Prada mules, except that they have a touch of edge with the zippers.

That is almost it for this week.

I also have a bonus piece because I know many of you are on the hunt for cashmere sweaters, and it can be hard to find quality at an affordable price range.

In my experience, I recommend searching out vintage cashmere. They were just made so much better years ago, which is why they still look amazing today if you are lucky enough to find one.

This one is vintage Burberry in a beautiful camel that does not cost hundreds of dollars.

Okay, I am done now. I hope you found some inspiration.
