I have got some good and exciting vintage finds this week, and I think the fact that Canada Post is striking on Friday is one of the only reasons why I haven’t bought some of them.
Because I made the mistake of buying a vintage slip skirt yesterday, and it is going to be stuck in the mail limbo once the strike starts, which always increases the chance of it being lost.
A super bummer, especially if it lasts a while.
I am hoping more that they are doing rolling strikes, which means that different areas will strike at different times, while still allowing the mail to go through, albeit at a snail’s pace.
It’s better than nothing.
Anyway, I got really lucky and came across a vintage Dosa silk slip skirt. Dosa is a smaller cult brand that still exists, but their sought-after pieces are the 90s/y2K silk beauties that come in stunning colours.
The skirt I found is a light purple with a peachy/copper lace trim. Their silks often have an iridescent sheen making them even more striking.
This is the skirt I bought, and I have also included a beautiful light blue one further down.
But first off, I am starting with my favourite pieces. A vintage Moschino fishnet blazer. This is like the ultimate summer light layer.
Then some red and black zippered booties by Rachel Comey that give 1980s without being 1980s.
How fun are these?

The Y2K lace camis are back, and I found one that is actually Y2K from one of our old favourite brands, Blumarine.
A nice neutral colour to make it modern and easy to wear.
We all know I love cinch-waist jacket, and this black zip-front, satin one by Altuzarra checks the right boxes.
Dress it up or dress it down.

This is the Dosa slip skirt.
It is on the US Poshmark and is a size 2, but since it elastic waist, it might fit a bit bigger.
And since I love a drop crotch pant, these Pleats Please Gauchos by Issey Miyake are the perfect summer pant…at least for me.
I love them.

John Galliano makes incredible dresses, and the colour silk slip dress is one of them.
It is currently on auction, but the price seems at very low end for what I have seen these selling for or listed as.
There is another one on a different site that is listed for way more than a thousand, but they are probably overpricing.
That being said, if you can get it for around what it is now then it will be a steal.
This other dress is more like a sheer overlay that I would layer over the top of a dress. I don’t do the sheer, show my bra and underwear trend.
Maybe I would have in 2000, but it’s a no for me now. It would look fantastic layered over different outfits, though.
A true statement piece.

I always search vintage Monet and today I found a beautiful, large vintage tassel necklace.
The large pendant-ish style is all the rage right now, and people are swarming to the vintage market to find their statement necklace for summer.
But I am kind of more in love with this little mouse brooch.
He is the cutest damned thing.

This Y2K studded baguette is similar to the green one that I just bought.
It is like the perfect little summer bag.
Okay, hear me out. Yes, I know the laces are missing, but these grey boots are phenomenal.
They are vintage Jil Sander and are a mid grey leather, with a flat sole, and a ballet style square toe. The laces would be easy to replace.
These would be hard to find again. One size smaller, and I would have grabbed them.
These would be an epic addition to your wardrobe.

Coloured leather = one of my favourite things.
The purple is striking and the style is a great boxy, waist-length that would be very easy to wear.
How sleek are these vintage Pumas?
So modern looking yet they are from 2000-ish. A great minimalist sneaker with some edge.

And lastly, we are going into the Bally leather collection.
I usually share Bally shoes, but they make fantastic bags as well, so I sourced out some great colours for summer.
A touch of 80s with this bold, hot pink and black style.
The blue is a slightly lighter version of Tiffany blue, and it is such a lovely colour. It is the perfect balance to this utilitarian style shoulder bag.

That is it for the week.
My notes for today are to keep an eye open for DOSA silks, Bally, and interesting statement pieces to add some oomph to your summer wardrobe.
Let’s try more secondhand first this summer.
