I am going to take a moment to silently cheer that my air conditioning switched on today for summer, which is perfect timing because today was the first really hot day of the season.

Next, my only purchase this week was a Furla bag from Poshmark that I got a $45 offer for. It should have arrived today but of course, it had a mix-up on the Friday of a long weekend.

It will probably arrive on Tuesday just before the tentative postal strike.

At least they aren’t doingit at the busiest time of the Christmas season, but I feel for the small businesses that will be affected and can’t pivot due to inaccessibility to other options.

There are a lot of shipping options, including smaller couriers in the area here, but in small towns and communities, they often don’t even have UPS or Fedex within drivable distances.

A no-win situation, I guess.

In case you missed it, I posted a rock minimalist inspired capsule yesterday.

  1. Hooray for air conditioning!

Thank you for the link to the article on eye health, my own eyes have been damaged since I was a kid because my retinas got sunburned one year at summer camp. Funny enough I finally got up the nerve to get a consultation for laser eye surgery after decades of chickening out. While I’m eligible for it they are recommending a lens replacement instead, partially because the laser surgery will only fix my damaged distance vision but wreck my currently okay near vision. And the whole point is to not wear glasses anymore, not switch to reading glasses. The other reason they are recommending the replacement is because I will likely have cataracts in about 20 years and will need it then anyway.

    • Now it’s cold again go figure 😂 I have messed up eyes as well and had eye surgery at age 6. It sucks. Laser eye surgery freaks me out after hearing so many horror stories so I think I’m doomed to have shitty eyesight for life. I’m glad the article was informative. It’s crazy how much the environment can effect us in ways we had no idea about. Cataract treatment has come a long way so hopefully in 20 years it will be even more advanced.
