With the current state of affairs, I am probably going to be showcasing much more secondhand and vintage items more regularly.
It just makes sense. We all need to be shopping secondhand more anyway. There are enough clothes out there already for the entire world several times over.
So, that being said, this week I was looking for little statement pieces, or things with visual interest.
The whole not-so-basic, basics that I like to talk about like these first two pieces.
We have a vintage leather jacket which looks like a regular fitted blazer style from the front but when you look at the back it has sheer, pleated fabric.
How cool is that?
The next is a basic t-shirt with some shoulder ruffles that would be so cute in spring and summer paired with jeans, linen pants, or even a skirt.
It is like an edgy minimalist in a standalone piece.
Sheer Back Blazer | Ruffled Tee
We are moving from winter jacket to lighter jacket weather and a blazer is always a good option.
Check out this lush, rust suede that is vintage circa 70s I believe.
The other is an old Moschino in a great check pattern. It is very scholarly/Dark academia but would work with most style aesthetics.
The return of the Boogie bag.
At least that is what I have been hearing and the timing makes sense based on the sports flats coming back.
I am not certain how I feel about that though. I initially bought one not because I thought it would come back but because I liked it and no one was wearing it anymore.
Now that may change, which kind of annoys me but that is the way of fashion.
Anyway, some fantastic, metallics would be a fun way to sport this. Which do you prefer, gold or crackled silver?

I love to wear mini dresses as shirts over jeans/pants and these two would be perfect for that.
The first one is Moschino with a drawing of a crossbody on it which is so much fun. The navy blue is Miu Miu and has an abstract feel.
It even has a brooch.

Speaking of brooches, how fun are these?
Have I shared this abstract one before? It feels familiar. It is a fun piece though.
Then we have a green flower brooch and earring set. This is my favourite green and it is such a fun set.
Break it up or wear it together.

Let’s talk about visual interest pieces again because look at this sweater. This half-and-half look is amazing and the price is great too. I am tempted…
This yellow leather jacket has such Coraline vibes and I am here for it. It looks so much like a rain slicker but is leather and I love it.
I have wanted a yellow jacket for a while now. I also really like the length of this one, just covering the butt.
Half and Half Sweater | Yellow Leather Blazer
This ring caught my eye because it is like a protective accessory. A piece that I would want to wear when I was walking alone at night. Seriously.
I am still on an Isabel Marant boot kick. There are so many and I love how interesting each one is. This one has little button straps that remind me of a band jacket.
A completely flat boot is a total win for me.

The photo of these Jil Sander driving shoes isn’t that great but the actual shoe is so good. They are a navy blue suede with a square toe and are in great shape.
I am very partial to navy blue and you don’t see shoes in that colour very often. It is a great variation to wearing black all the time, and this colour would pair so well with denim giving like a monochromatic feel.
And lastly a little bit of fun.
I adore vintage Swatch Watches. They are a great little statement piece and a fun way to add a blast of colour to a minimal spring and summer outfit.
Have some fun with your accessories like a fluorescent coloured Swatch.
That is it for this week friends.
I think my capsule this week is going to revolve around dressing on a budget.
See you Thursday night.
