I went out to run some errands today and I stopped by Simons, because I love Simons and will go in whenever I have the opportunity.
Today, though, I was short on time, so I decided that I would just check out the men’s department.
I just posted a series of stories on Instagram of the things that I found in a quick walk-through of that department, which is why I am such a huge proponent of always at least doing a menswear section walk-through in both thrift stores and other retail.
There are always treasures to be found if you go in with an open mind.
And today the bargain was a skirt. Yes, I found a skirt in the men’s department that was not accidentally left here from the women’s department.
It is a sort of kilt feel, minus the wrap and buckle. The fabric is soft, and it is grey, front pleated, with some deep pockets because of course…it is for men.
I found it on the super sale rack, regularly $99 for $9.99. I actually saw it at the beginning of the season and thought it was a great style but didn’t want to pay that much.
But for that sale price, there was no way I was passing it up since a grey skirt was on my spring wishlist.
If I had more money there were a few coats that I would have liked as well, but they are not something I need, just would have liked.
Plus, I have this vintage one from Etsy coming to me.
So yeah, that is my style tip. Check the men’s department because you never know what you will find.
Before I sign off I wanted to say one of the best pieces I found while shopping menswear was a non-iron white button-up.
That thing does not wrinkle at all. It is amazing.

Hi Sara, Are those Everlane trousers itchy? Everytime you show them I want them but I mostly can’t wear wool against my skin. Thanks
I don’t find them itchy but if you are sensitive to wool then they might irritate you since they are unlined.
