Surprise, surprise, I actually documented 5 outfits of the day this week. That never happens so I thought it would be worth pointing out. I think the midweek cropped t-shirt motivated me.
I was really warm today which on one hand was nice, but on the other hand sucks because:
a) It means that the summer weather grossness is coming, and
b) The building’s air conditioning won’t be completely transferred to cool air until the 25th so sleeping is really uncomfortable. This side of the building gets a lot of sun, so it gets warm really quickly.
I can already feel the summer heat lethargy settling in…or maybe that is just an excuse for me to not do anything 😉
I don’t usually share beauty type things on here because I am very simple in the beauty department. I have never spend hundreds of dollars on hair tools or beauty supplies. I am a straight-up drugstore beauty kind of person.
It’s easy, inexpensive, and it works for me.
BUT, this week I shared on Instagram a new hair tool that I bought. When I posted the link it got a few thousand clicks so I guess that means that people are interested?
I know there are a lot of people that read the blog but don’t do the whole Instagram thing so I thought I would bring it here too.
My teenager is notorious for burning out my hairdryers. I’m replacing them at least every couple of months, so this time I bought her, her own cheapy hairdryer, and I thought I would try a new tool.
I bought it at Walmart because nothing is open here, and that is one of the only places where I can buy an item in-store. I tried looking on Amazon but the Canadian Amazon seems to be a fake version according to reviews. The US one seems legit. Amazon isn’t very good here.
Anyway, it’s one of those one step hair dryers round brush tools. I used it in every photo above and you can see how it makes my hair sleeker.
Basically all I do is wash and condition my hair and then let it air dry about 90%. To the point that on any normal day you know you let it air dry too long and are going to have a bad hair day.
Then I clip the top half up and quickly dry the bottom in sections, then switch to the top layer. It literally takes me 5 minutes and it is done.
My teenager decided that she likes it now too :/ “it gives her short, shaggy layers extra oomph”.
She better not burn it out.
Stay safe.
