SHOP THE POST

Have you ever been in to a Miniso store? They are a variety retailer so they sell everything for fantastic prices, and one recently opened in the area. It’s become our new favourite spot to shop. I bought a sports bra for $4, an exercise resistance band for $1.79, a melon baller for $1.47, and new headphones for Merle for $10. I was contemplating a clip on study lamp for Roo but I want her to pick out the style and colour she wants and she wasn’t shopping with us today. I have a feeling that she will try to talk me into a wireless keyboard and mouse as well 😉 See, they have everything.

Do you ever see candid photos of yourself and you think “holy shit. I hope I don’t really look like that.”? Yeah? I saw some this weekend and it was like an epiphany. It really kicked my ass so I am putting this in writing….Operation Sara Gets Fit starts In the morning. I figured since my birthday is on the 6th it’s a good time to begin. Get everything rolling before my 39th year starts.  I even spent $100 on fruit, vegetables, and other healthy things to get me started…..and while $100 seems like an obscene amount for fruit and vegetables remember that I live in Canada in one of the most expensive cities in the country. You get a lot less for that amount than you can in many other places. It’s actually quite depressing to see how little $100 can buy.

I bought a second Christmas present today, although I feel like I am slacking compared to last year. Merle LOVES Scooby Doo (mainly the old ones) and I found this retro Scooby Doo poster printed on tin for her to hang in her room. She’ll love it. Velma is her favourite and I think she has already preplanned her Halloween costume for next year to be Velma. This kid is way more organized than I am and I envy her.

  1. Those have to been some particularly brutal candid pix, Sara, because I don’t see how you can look bad at any angle. I think you should celebrate how great (aka your hotness) and stylish you look as you enter your 39th year. Just my two cents. Cheers, Ardith

    • Thanks Ardith. I know that we are our own worst enemies and angles are everything. “From behind” shots generally aren’t flattering for anyone so I know it shouldn’t have affected me like that. I want to feel fit and strong, and currently feel bloated, weak, and always tired. I’ve got away without having to worry about it most my life and I feel like it’s time for a change. I’m not looking to lose weight, just tighten and strengthen what I have. It would be nice to feel better about myself at this age then I did when I was in my 20’s though and I think I can if I get serious about it 🙂
