SHOP THE POST

Do you have a store that you go in to so often that you literally cringe when you see the staff because you know they are thinking “she’s here again”? That’s me and my local Zara. In between checking for new stock, shopping for the girls and making returns for online purchases, I get embarrassed to go in there so often. I made a return on Monday and again on Friday because I keep ordering jeans that don’t work out, and on Friday I made my return in the men’s department because I was too embarrassed to do another return with the same girl I did on Monday. I don’t know why I let it bother me, but it does :/

Last week I also received the animal print loafers from Sam Edelman and they are perfect. I’m so glad that I went through with the purchase because they are exactly what I was looking for. Next thing to scratch off my list are a pair of calf hair flat boots. I highly doubt I will get as a good deal on those though.

Tom was gone again this weekend (Saturday night) because he still plays in one of his old bands for fun. They play and practice in Peterborough (where we used to live) and they have a St.Patrick’s Day show next weekend, so they needed to squeeze in one more practice before the day. This means that I will have two kids that will want to sleep in the bed because dad isn’t home. I don’t think I have had a bed to myself in 14 years.

Speaking of St. Patrick’s Day, I used to celebrate it hard in college just like everyone else and it never once occurred to me that I was Irish. That was way back when I thought my heritage was Danish, and Swedish. It’s so funny how you can spend your whole life believing something to have it be completely different. My heritage breaks down into Great Britain (53%), Europe East 20% (I’m pretty sure it’s Ukrainian from what I have dug out), and 15% Irish. The rest is small percentages scattered about Europe. So it seems as far as I have traced back, most of my ancestors lived on the Islands of the UK and Ireland and didn’t move farther than that until immigration to Canada. I guess it makes sense that I want to move back there then. I wish you could get a citizenship based on your DNA ethnicity 😉

We are on March break this week so I am hoping to get some blogging done. It would be nice to have a queue of posts so I am not still typing 30 seconds before I publish a new article. Here is to a productive week.

Anyone else excited that the clocks went forward this weekend and we will have more daylight?
