As the world is seemingly burning down, and ai is heading in the direction of taking over the world, according to some ai tech billionaires, I am finding myself going further and further away from wanting to buy new.
Don’t get me wrong, I still check out new releases to see what’s up, and I can’t say that I don’t add anything to my cart, but I am very aware now.
Once upon a time I mindlessly shopped and added to cart, but now I find myself trying to find comparable items in the secondhand universe if I am feeling fomo.
Or taking it one step farther and finding something unique and interesting, and so much better than the original I was looking at.
My current fixation is an embossed leather jacket, below the knee. Possibly in an interesting colour.
The mission is currently unsuccessful, but I am working on it and some of the jackets in tonight’s post were ones that I came across during that mission.
It is not about instant gratification. Sometimes it takes a long time to find what you are looking for, but it is usually always worth it.
So I will start with this vintage Banana Republic silk shirt that is a gold colour. Please source out vintage BR because they truly made some phenomenal pieces.
This top with the little mandarin collar is so very on trend right now, and it is silk, which it probably won’t be in similar fast fashion styles.
I saw this mixed media blazer last week, and set it aside for this post.
Besides the quirky professor vibes, it is so fun and visually interesting, and it would be the perfect blazer for fall.

Back to the little backpacks fixation from last week, but this time it is gold embossed snake print, and it is fabulous. Remember? We are bringing back the 90s little backpacks.
The purple trousers are vintage Anne Klein, and they are in an acetate which gives the fabric a shimmer and drape like silk.
I still think purple will be a colour this fall, and these would make a great statement pant.

Another silk top but this time vtg Ralph Lauren. It is a button-up blouse with balloon sleeves, and it is the perfect minimalist staple.
This graphic tee needs to walk itself right into my closet. Seriously. I love everything about it from the bright yellow to the fun graphic, and paper thinness.

Vintage Calvin Klein leather jacket anyone?
The colour and style with the small funnel neck and utilitarian pockets. It is very 90s/Y2K to me.
Do you remember when the Gap used to carry interesting styles like the Victorian-esque style jacket?
It literally looks like it would be an antique piece. I wonder what happened to make them shift to relatively boring staples?

Ooooh, this trench is another vintage Calvin Klein piece, and it is like the epitome of the 90s for the stylish working woman back then.
This one is iconic, and I want it for myself. It is men’s sizing, but obviously fits this women’s mannequin perfectly.
Costume jewellery is also a weakness of mine, and when I saw this 1980s Yves Saint Laurent piece I had to share.
Just wear it with a plain white tee and it would be perfection.

I shared this style of Jil Sander flat quite a while back, but to me it is one of the most perfect fall shoes, so worth sharing this one as well.
An animal print in a non-traditional colour is a great way to add interest to your fall wardrobe, especially if you are prone to wearing neutrals.
I am also in the market for a more fitted leather bomber like this Dolce & Gabbana leather and knit style.

These are Y2K Miu Miu kitten heel boots, and they are perfect for fall.
The elongated toe and perfectly walkable heel, plus the elastic side inserts make getting them on and off much easier.
Another statement necklace, but this one is a multi-chain style with a large resin circular clasp that I think would look better worn to the front than the back.

Fall is the perfect time to bring in colour and texture to your wardrobe via shoes and accessories, if you are a person who gravitates to neutrals.
This bright pink pony hair with black leather handbag would look striking against an all-neutral outfit.
