*I chose the maxi dress and t-shirt dress because they were the style I was looking for. If they are out of your price range (like they are mine) here are some other options that are around $50: maxi 1, maxi2, maxi 3(plus size), t-shirt dress 1,
t-shirt dress 2, t-shirt dress 3 (plus size).
I received a request about what to pack for Panama, Central America for a 5 day trip. Since I generally stick to a 10 day list I decided that I would do my regular 10 day (at the top) and then cut some pieces and do a 5 day as well in the same post (at the bottom).
I have stuck to making lists for cooler weather recently because that is what is available at stores here at this time. Now that they are slowly transitioning over to spring/summer clothing I will be making lists for warmer weather more often.
After doing some research I found out that wearing shorts isn’t very common in Panama aside from the tourists. It has been suggested that if you choose to wear shorts while visiting to wear a dressier pair over a casual pair like denim cut offs.
I chose to omit shorts from this list but if you really want to bring some, just throw them in the bag since they won’t take up too much room. I wanted to include light, airy clothing in linen or cotton. These materials breathe and will be cooler in the hot temperatures.
The oversized scarf I added because it will work well as a bathing suit cover up, or as a shawl to cover your shoulders out of respect if you are visiting any religious sites/churches. I also included an oversized long sleeve and a sweater which will be good for cooler nighttime walks/outings, and if you have and flying stopovers in cooler cities.
You could probably get away with only one swimsuit if you really wanted to, and cut out the jumpsuit and/or maxi dress. The goal is to give you ideas of what would work best with your wardrobe and trip.
The sun in really intense at the equator and you will burn really fast, or get heat stroke (from personal experience) so make sure to pack suntan lotion, and bring a hat and sunglasses. The outfit options for these lists are in What to Wear in Panama, Central America.
Do you prefer a one piece or two piece bathing suit for vacations? I think I like the versatility of being able to mix up the pieces of a bikini but I really like one pieces with tummy coverage 😉
