Tonight was the big night, so I had to make sure to finish this post wayyyy earlier today because I could take the kids out trick or treating.

I didn’t want to stay up to all hours to get it done after we got back, so I got up super early this morning.

If you want to see the girls in their finished Halloween get-ups you can see them on my Instagram post from today.

I made them hurry out for pictures during a break from the rain because I knew that they would be so excited tonight that I wouldn’t get any good shots, especially since it will be dark out. I always get the Halloween night picture fail.

This week I have a packing list for Portugal, at Christmas and New Years (Porto). This one is for two weeks vs the month long packing list from last week.

Porto is also warmer during this time of year so while it will be cool out, you will not need full winter regalia included in your travel wardrobe.

Layers, a coat, and a scarf should be enough to dress weather appropriate.

This week is a little more colour infused with lots of different textures, like various knits, cottons, and a beautiful, yellow, velvet blazer.

She wanted some bold colour to jazz up her usual casual vibe. The only other suggestion was a simple, black dress that would work for Christmas festivities and New Years.

The dress I chose is deceptively simple long, knit sheath from the front, but from the back it has a low cut-out design that gives an understated sexy. This dress will be easy to dress up or down.

I have a Instagram friend who lives in Porto and every time she posts a photo I get an instant dose of envy.

It’s absolutely beautiful, and she takes some wonderful photos of it, so it’s now on my destination list.

Have you ever been to Porto?

*The grey jeans are from the H&M shaping jeans line. I love this line and I own these grey pair, and wear them frequently. I did cut the bottom off since they were a little too long on me and I like a more ankle skim fit in my jeans.

  1. This is a great, fun wardrobe, Sara, I like so many of the items individually let alone as a set. It’s probably just as well the black dress is sold out. But that striped sweater is not.

Based on prior experience from both sets of next door neighbors we were expecting somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 trick or treaters. Unfortunately, it rained (and flooded) all day long. So the hot dog roast next door was cancelled. It was doubtful any kids would show up—especially at our house, given the walkway flooded yet again. But we actually ended up having about half a dozen show up, so they got handfuls of candy as a reward. That still leaves us with a ridiculous percentage of the $50 worth of candy we bought.

I’m truly sorry I didn’t get to see your girls’ costumes. I hope they had a great time in them.

    Cheers, Ardith

    • Ugh. It was raining all day here too and I was concerned, but it cleared up nicely. It was actually perfect trick or treating weather. The temperature was decent enough that they didn’t need multiple layers. They had a good time though. We trick or treated until no one wanted to carry their bags anymore.

A hotdog roast sounds right up my alley so I would have been super disappointed 😔

UNIQLO opens tomorrow so I’m going to head over early to check out their wares. I’ll let you know how it goes.
