SHOP THE POST

This week I am visiting a packing light request by a 61-year-old reader who is travelling to Barcelona, and various other cities in Spain at the end of April and beginning of May. I hope I do it justice with this Barcelona Packing list.

The weather averages around 17-19°C at this time of year and can be wet, so watch the forecast. You can still pack light if you bring a rain slicker, or you may choose to save the room and pick up a cheap umbrella when you are there.

Layers are a logical choice because the temperatures will be cool first thing in the morning when you set out, warmer in the afternoon, and get cooler again in the evenings so having pieces that are easy to take on and off and layer well are important.

She gave me a list of several items that she thought to include so I incorporated them (or something similar) and built the rest of the travel capsule wardrobe around those.

First a pink leather jacket (which set the colour theme for me), jeans, black pants, tan khakis, black booties, black flats, neutral shoes, and a grey cardigan.

This cardigan looks identical to the one that I bought at Zara that sold out so I am excited to see it again and in several different colours.

She also wants to include a pair of tights to layer which I also included in the collage, and are an easy addition.

I came across a faux leather jacket that is really nice and would work with this theme as well. The colour states taupe, but the colour in the photograph looks like a light nude blush to me and is really pretty.

The trip is for two weeks in Spain, so I put together 18 different travel outfits ideas below with more options to make and swap around which will be plenty for a trip.

I hope this gives you some good ideas, and that the trip is incredible.

We started a vacation fund jar this weekend……it’s actually a big tin with Gardner Vacation Fund written in black sharpie on the side 😉 Everyone in the family is a contributor because we all have a big goal for this year. Does anyone else have a fund jar for saving for something big?
