SHOP THE POST

Is it sad that the high point of my weekend was folding and putting away that basket of clothes that has sat there for 5 weeks? Another high point was realizing that a Smoke’s Poutinerie opened up nearby and is literally a 2 minute walk to get there. I’m not sure of that is a good thing or bad thing because we all love Poutine in here and now it is too easy to just run down and grab it.

Does anyone else have their browser set so that when they reopen it for the day it opens up all the tabs that you had open the day before? Right now I have 19 of them open, and they are a combination of my favourite stores, language learning sites, genealogy pages, and whatever show I am currently streaming. It’s quite the mish-mash but I bounce between all of those pages all day, every day so keeping them open makes more sense than keeping them bookmarked.

I bought some new trousers last week. They look like a dress pant/causal track pant combo. I wore them yesterday and you can see them here in my Instagram post. I wanted a long pair the snaps up the side but they would be way too long on me and would require shoes with a heel so they won’t drag, so I went with the rolled/cropped pair. I bought them from Zara but they also have a lot of the same or similar styles from other retailers online that are all around the same price like here, and here. Or you can go uber expensive like these 😉

It’s 5:30pm as I write this and the sun is still up which is doing a lot to life the mood. I wonder if March is going to pull the “in like a lion out like a lamb” thing, because I really do not want to see any more snow this season. There are 3 months to get myself into somewhat of a decent summer shape since the sweaters that hide the winter fluffiness will be retired, so I guess it’s time to start kicking my ass. Back when I was in college I weighed my heaviest, which totally wasn’t heavy, but it was the most I had weighed up until that point because all I did was party and sit around. When I got my job across town I began walking to and from there everyday because the public transit sucked and would often make me late. The walking was about 2-3 miles each way and I did that back and forth 5 times a week, and after I got in to the routine I actually started enjoying it (even in winter). I wasn’t doing any other kind of exercising and I was still eating like shit, but that extra weight just fell off. I think along with working out a few days a week, as the weather gets nicer I am going to get up early and go for walks again. I’ll probably bring Merle because she really enjoys going for long walks, and I think that will be a nice change for us. I downloaded a step tracker on my phone since I don’t have a Fitbit, so I plan on setting some realistic goals and see if we can plow through them.

I am hoping that it helps me both physically and mentally, and I can’t wait to get started.
