I received a request on Instagram a little while back from a woman who goes and works on site in Northern Canada for several weeks at a time. The atmosphere is casual and she usually wears quite laid back outfits as does mostly everyone else. This time she wanted to dress a little more serious but still remain casual in a casual chic sort of way.

She asked if I could give her some ideas of what kind of things she would need to bring with her to achieve this look. Her go-to flat is a black pointy toe and she wanted to bring a grey sneaker wedge. From there I put some things together that should give a very versatile, chic, yet casual enough to not feel too dressed up.

The weather in Northern Canada in the summer can range from 10°C to 25°C which is quite a fluctuation, so I included a jacket for the cool and damp, and some sweaters along with sleeveless and tees which can layer up and down. The black sweater is a very light knit and needs a camisole or t-shirt under it but would still work in hotter weather.

One of the stipulations was no skirts, or dresses, and closed toe shoes so I included a couple of pairs off jeans, black pants, and a looser more casual pant.

For next post I will include the outfit options for these pieces so you can see how I would put them together. I hope this list gives you some ideas.
