I have mentioned in the past that Scotland would probably be the place I chose if I had to pick one place in the world to live. I have always had this unexplainable draw to it, so much so that I wonder if it was part of a past life of mine. Scottish accents are also my absolutely most favourite ever and I wish that my kids grew up there so they could have them.

Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and its roots as a settlement go back to prehistoric times. In the 9th century it merged with other regions and created the united Kingdom of Scotland.

It was Scotland’s second largest bishopric during the medieval times and this established it as an important city. Its importance increased during the 10th and 11th centuries and during this time it enhanced its status by having an annual fair This fair survives today as the Glasgow Fair.

It became an important trading port, and in 1800 it became one of the first municipal police forces in the world when it established the City of Glasgow Police. It was one of the first cities in Europe to reach the population of 1 million and continued to grow with its many developments during the industrial revolution.

Glasgow is considered one of Scotland’s milder areas. Winters average 5°C in January and are cool and overcast. The summer months are unpredictable with weather ranging from cool and wet, to humid, with occasional sunshine.

The average high temperature in June is 20°C. Definitely my ideal weather with not too cold in the winter, not too hot in the summer, and lots of rain and overcast days. (and that is not sarcasm but truly is my ideal) I find nothing more calming and relaxing than sitting in a nice warm house and watching the rain fall. #rainbootsforlife
