In my last post I gave an example packing light list to show what could be packed for Munich, Germany. Then by reader request I took the same list and adjusted it slightly to change it to a 7 day packing list for New York to give her an idea of what she can bring to pack light this Thanksgiving. Munich isn’t extremely cold in the winter like it is here, but it does get cold enough to need a warm coat and boots if you plan to travel during that season. I’m sure it seems freezing to people from warm locations though 😉

When I was young my dad had a posting to Germany (he was in the military). My mother was the full-time caretaker of my grandmother at that time and because of her medical issues (she had Alzheimer’s) they cancelled the posting. At the time I was scared to move out of the country but now I really wish that we had got that experience because it would have been a total life changer for me. I had friends who lived there for a few years and I remember them teaching me all the German swear words they knew in secret when we were around 10. We thought we were pretty cool after that to swear in a foreign language.

To get back on track here, in What to Wear in Munich, Germany I picked 12 items of clothing which included 4 tops, 2 sweaters, 1 cape/wrap, 1 dress, 3 bottoms, and a coat. This list also included 3 pairs of shoes and some accessories. I posted 10 days worth of outfit ideas at the top and 8 more outfit ideas at the moment to show how versatile the list is without having to repeat an outfit. You would pick the heavier/bulkier pieces to wear on the plane/travelling to the destination which will lighten up your carry-on.
