In my last post I showed you what I brought for our 7 day trip to visit my family last week. The weather was cooler more like early fall than the typical summer temperatures in this area. I noticed that even some of the leaves on the trees were starting to turn which is kind of scary. Where does time go? I ended up bringing some of my new fall pieces that I recently purchased so I could try them out though. Any excuse to wear something new I guess 😉 I also brought a swimsuit and sandals but they ended up staying in the suitcase unworn the entire time. The only thing I forgot to post in my list was my black purse but it was just a run-of-the-mill black handbag from H&M that I bought for $30.

I mentioned in the last post that I may have over-packed a bit. Packing light is my intention and overall I think I did well but since we were only going to my parents house and I was trying out my new Mason Travel Satchel, I over-did the packing slightly. Not too bad though because everything fit fine. Above are the outfits that I wore on days 1-7, the extra outfits 8-10 ideas are suggestions of what I could have worn if I had extended my stay. I always think it is a good idea to have several extra outfit options in case you have an unexpected outing that needs a change of clothes, and extended stay, or even a spill or stain incident. This can easily be achieved by simply adding a hat or switching out some shoes (spills and stains obviously need more changes).

I am looking for some packing list suggestions so if you have any destination you would like to see please message me or leave me a comment below letting me know.

  1. I will be going to Ireland late July next year. I am newer to the capsule wardrobe lifestyle (and loving it!) I have ideas what I’d like to pack but I love your style and would love to see your picks! Thank you!!

    • I have one for Dublin that I did quite a while back. I have been thinking about updating it since clothes go in and out of fashion so quickly, and now you have given me a reason to do so 🙂 I will put it in my queue of lists to finish. Thanks for the idea!
