Remember when there was no Pinterest? Me neither. Well, I do but it just seems so bland without it. It’s like one of those things where you lived fine beforehand because you didn’t know what you were missing. I grew up without the internet. It wasn’t until my late teens that going online was even a thing. Which is hard to imagine know because it is such an integral part of my life. Even then there was only a select few things to look at and whatever that was took forever to load. I remember trying to load a page that had a huge picture of Winona Ryder. I was looking for hair inspiration and Winona circa Reality Bites had amazing hair. Anyway, I went a made supper and came back and it was still only half loaded. No wonder we stuck to the quick chat sites back then, they were exciting in their rapid speed. But at that time it was easy to remember when we didn’t have access to online information so we were patient and grateful no matter how long it took. Unlike now. We curse the wi-fi gods if it takes more than 2 seconds for a site to load. I had to use a card catalogue to find BOOKS for research papers way back in the day, I can handle a slight delay in page loads.
Pinterest is kind of like that to me. I can remember what it was like before but I am grateful for it now. It helps in more way than I can count. With recipes, home decorating, crafts, and travel. Today I am using it for fashion inspiration. My fashion board on Pinterest is a huge compilation of my ideal style. You know, the style you would have if money was no object. The above collage is a few inspirations for fall. The inspiration is on the left and the pieces on the right are realistic ideas for how you can build that look.
This was fun. Let me know if you liked it.
