SHOP THE POST

Twas the night before lockdown and all through the city…..people were once again hoarding toilet paper. Assholes.

I can’t believe they are doing this again.

Literal lineups for grocery stores all over the city when they are not even closing. It’s funny how people never learn.

Actually it’s not funny, it’s sad. And frustrating.

So here we are again.

Roo’s 16th birthday is on Tuesday and I need to figure out the cake situation, but Thankfully I finished her birthday shopping a couple of weeks ago.

If I didn’t, I might have been one of the crazy people that were out there today hoping to get their shopping done before the malls closed.

Just kidding, I would have ordered something online.

On a positive note, it snowed today for the first time this season.

I’m sure it will be gone in a day but it was nice to wake up to.

We also dropped off a pile of donations today which I’m not sure will even be useful now for this season.

I don’t think that thrift stores fall into the “essential” category even though they have a street access entrance (which is a requirement to many businesses that remain open).

I personally consider thrift stores essential, especially at this time of year when people depend on them for buying inexpensive winter clothing, blankets/bedding, and Christmas gifts.

What’s your opinion on that?

I’m just so pissed off that they could have done this way back in September/October when the number started to rise.

They predicted this outcome then if no changes were made, and none were made.

Now we have a lockdownish type of restrictions during the time period that has the highest rate of suicides for the whole year.

You would think a large group of people that have access to all kinds of information, and experts in the field should have seen this coming and made the extra effort to prevent it.

And to top it off I just read the US travel for the Thanksgiving holiday is only down 10% from last year.

This is going to go well.

Welcome to the gong show people.

Stay safe.
