SHOP THE POST

I don’t go to Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack very often but today I wanted to check out Nordstrom Rack to see what deals I could find…..and boy am I glad that I did.

I was mainly looking for some good quality t-shirts (I couldn’t find any) and then moved on to look at everything. I found some Adidas hi-tops for Merle, and then I found myself a purse. It’s a leather Mini Quilted Affair by Rebecca Minkoff purse in RED.

I tend to stay to the safe neutrals of black or brown when it comes to handbags so I while I knew that I loved it I was also unsure if I would wear it at first. That thought went out the window when I checked it out in front of a mirror. I loved it. It was also marked down to $80 and I figured this was as close to as a “designer” bag as I was going to get any time soon, and I knew that I would kick myself if I didn’t buy it.

I’m looking forward to integrating it in to my wardrobe. As for the nice quality t-shirts I have a couple in mind that I have tossed around. I saw a friend buy a James Perse tee in the Shopbop sale, and I loved the look. She raved about its t-shirt perfection. I don’t want to pay $80 for a t-shirt so I searched online and saw that Nordstrom rack has an almost identical one for $35. That’s actually the reason I went there today, to see if they had them before I bought it online.

I also like the ex-boyfriend tee from Madewell. Both t-shirts have excellent reviews so it’s really hard to make a decision. Do any of you have either style that you can give me your opinion on?

  1. good finds, looking forward to seeing the new purse in action! in my opinion, james perse tees are better suited for either a short torso or shorter person. i’m about 5’11 so they don’t look right on me. grechen’s closet has detailed reviews on james perse items if you need some guidance on sizing. i’d go for the madewell ex-boyfriend tee. i haven’t tried that style yet, but it looks like the perfect proportion of slouchy yet not sloppy, like a loved, lived-in band tee minus the graphics.

    • I love Gretchen’s Closet! I’ll head over and do a search. I’m only 5’3” and the friend I saw it on is the same height so maybe that’s why I loved the way it fit 😂 The Madewell tee has been on my mind for probably close to two years, for the very reasons you described. Would buying one of each be a bad thing? (I’m not sure if I’m joking about that or not) 😂

  2. I love the Madewell Ex-Boyfriend Tee. I own two of the short-sleeved and one long-sleeved They are a nice thick cotton, much more so than Madewell’s other tees. Definitely recommend!

    • Good to know! I ended up getting both. I can’t wait for them to arrive 🙂
