Are you wondering what to pack for Hawaii? I have a sample of a Hawaii packing list to help you on your way.

I’ve had a few requests for warm weather destinations recently, namely Hawaii. It looks like people are ready for a little dose of sunshine and warmth.

Hawaii is one of those bucket list travel destinations that check many of the boxes of what an ideal vacation entails.

It has beaches…..lots and lots of beaches, mountains, resorts, and so much nature.

Hawaii consists of many islands but it has five main ones.

Oahu is generally the main hub that people fly into when they arrive.

The Big Island (also known as Hawaii but reduces confusion).

Kauai the oldest and most beautiful.

And then Maui, and Lana’i.

The Hawaiian style is really casual. Even when dressed up it is still casual so you will not need any fancy outfits.

It’s weather also doesn’t change many seasons through season because of its location so there won’t be many surprises so a basic summer travel wardrobe is all you need.

Just because its tropical doesn’t mean that it doesn’t get cold.

Hawaii has a lot of varying elevations and those high ones can get pretty cold so come prepared with a sweater, cardigan, or light jacket.

It is also really windy so short skirts and dresses are probably not a good idea. Keep some length to avoid any embarrassing situations 😉

Lightweight, breezy, and natural fabrics are good choices when picking your pieces as well.

Are you going to be doing any hiking?

Make sure that you have the proper travel footwear for that part of your itinerary. But if you forget there are many places that you can go on each island to find what you need.

Some extras that you may want to consider?

A fast drying towel for convenience, a packable hat, and some sunscreen that is safe for the Coral Reef.

It’s always good to do what you can to respect the land that you are visiting.

If you are planning to visit Hawaii and enjoyed my What to Pack for Hawaii packing list, please feel free to share it via Pinterest, Facebook, or Twitter. Thank you.
