Welcome 2019! Did you manage to stay up until midnight?

We all did here, even though I crashed shortly after.

It’s been a long Christmas holiday and I swear the bedtime and sleeping-in is getting later by the day.

I need to reverse this quickly before we get back to reality on Monday.

We always take a longer time off school over Christmas because it’s our favourite time of the year, and Tom is off work during this time.

We aren’t big fans of summer and summer heat so we tend to school longer into the summer than most, but everything balances in the end.

For the first packing list post of 2019 I have a What to Pack for Tokyo, Japan in spring travel capsule wardrobe.

Around this time of year, I get a few messages about people travelling to see the Cherry Blossom Festivals in Japan.

The calendar for the approximate best dates to view them it in cities across Japan won’t be out until Jan20th, but they predict that they will bloom a little earlier this year.

This trip is for 10 days in Tokyo in March where the daytime highs can hit the mid to high teens, with both the morning and evenings dropping in temperature.

This means items that layer well are important because you want to be able to stay comfortable throughout the whole day.

Spring is one of the best times to visit Japan since there is low rain, mild temperatures, clear skies, and beautiful blooms.

I hope you had a great start to the new year!
