Please tell me that I am not the only one who has their Christmas tree still up. I know it’s only the first week in January, but I really don’t feel like going through the hassle. It’s not as bad as the year that we had it up until March. That was a good year. Anyone have any good book recommendations? I find myself reading the same books over and over because a) I enjoy them, but b) I’m having trouble finding things that appeal to me. Usually when I go to bed at night I am too tired to put much thought in to what book I want to read. I figure if I have a list of books that I can get together or download, then I can just open and start reading without using too much brain power.

Increasing my water intake has been top on my list of things to do, but I hate water so it has always been hard for me. I have started to drink warm water with cut up lemons in it and it seems to make it easier for me to drink. I also helps cut down on the amount of tea I drink. It’s obviously not even as close to satisfying as a good cup of tea, but mostly cuts out the craving.

I didn’t exercise this week so I am off to a really good start. Tom didn’t return to work until Thursday, and I HATE working out if front of him so It has been put off until Monday morning before we jump back in to schooling. I think I am going to sign up for the Daily Burn free month trial tonight or ZGYM (I’ve followed her since her Body Rock days and love the short but intense and great workouts, plus it’s only $9.99/month) and plan out a week of exercises, because I usually spend way more time picking my workout than actually doing it.

I’m thinking of starting to teach Merle cursive. I know a lot of schools don’t teach it anymore for various reasons but I’ve always really liked it even though my own is atrocious. I use on a printing/writing hybrid. I started to teach Roo many years ago but she always went back to printing (she actually prefers typing and has some excellent keyboarding skills). She can read cursive though which I think is a also an important skill to have.

What say you on learning cursive still?

*The coat in the second image has been missing for YEARS. I thought that it was a victim of the “great purge”. It turns out that it was on a hanger under an old jacket of Tom’s that he never wears.
