SHOP THE POST

Hello, my name is Sara and I am a procrastinator extraordinaire…..an yes I know I have said that a million times, but I am just making sure you get how much. It’s ridiculous. I wrote a to-do list for this weekend and promised myself that I would get through most of it since it is a long weekend. Now it’s almost over and tomorrow I have to cook (Thanksgiving) and I can literally see the same fuzz in the same spot that was on the carpet 3 days ago.

Every year for Christmas I kind of feel like I buy gifts in themes for the girls. For quite a few years it was Harry Potter and now this year for Merle it is Nightmare Before Christmas. I guess that it is good that it coincides perfectly with the 25th anniversary (can you believe it’s 25 years?) and there is stuff EVERYWHERE. Too much stuff, too many options, and not enough money 😉 The one special thing for her main gift that I wanted to get her were these characters, but they are an online Hot Topic exclusive, and shipping charges to Canada are ridiculous. So I opened my search to Ebay, and while they have a lot that people are selling, they are also charging ridiculous prices (tis the season). I managed to find them here which has a very good reputation and has been around for years. Not only that, but it was cheaper and less expensive to ship to Canada. We’ll see if I get nailed with duty charges once it arrives though.

Is it bad that I really, really want to put up my Christmas tree? I would keep it up all year if I could get away with it. As it stands I always let the girls put it up on Roo’s birthday, but I think maybe this year I will let them put it up a little earlier.

We went thrifting yesterday and I found Roo two pairs of fall/winter footwear. A pair of black leather, lined Converse like these, and these Sorel boots. Talk about perfect timing and a good score.

Do any of you watch Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries? I kind of love it.

  1. Happy Thanksgiving, Sara! And yes, I love Miss Fisher (wish there were more seasons). BTW, love the classic yet edgy skirt outfit. Hope you and your family enjoy the holiday. Cheers, Ardith

    • Thanks Ardith! I wish their were more seasons too. I’m not sure why I put off watching it for so long because it has been sitting in my watch list forever.

I used to hate turtlenecks (the one in the skirt outfit) and now I can’t get enough of them so you’ll probably see me wear that black one the whole winter. I also feel like a witch in those boots which I guess is the perfect mood for October 😉

I hope you and the mister have a great week. Can you believe we are already this far into the holiday season?

      Sara

  2. Miss Fisher’s is the best! I love her and The Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries, sometimes you see an actor that was on one series on the other. I’m all for keeping a Christmas tree up as long as possible, I love the glow that the Christmas tree lights give off, it makes the house feel extra cozy. Never mind that it’s still pushing almost 90 Fahrenheit down here!
    Have a happy holiday!!

    • Yes! Is the ambience of the tree that I love.
I’m going to have to check the Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries too now because I love when actors pop up across series. You see that on bbc shows a lot.
It’s going to be close to 40°C again tomorrow for a couple of days and I am cringing at the thought. I hope it cools a bit for you soon.

  3. eeehh, we’re supposed to get yet another hurricane at the end of this week, so we’ll see what happens :/ and yes, i’ve joked with my husband that britain must only have about 30 actors and actresses because i see the same ones on the bbc and british-made movies!
