This week we are spending two weeks in Brussels, Belgium. And by we, I don’t mean me, I mean the person who emailed me.

If it was me you definitely would have heard me mention it 1 or 1000 times 😉 The trip is for two weeks in September for a late 30’s mom who is going on a trip with her family.

I got lucky this week because I actually know someone who lives in Brussels that could give me some opinions and ideas on what would be good to bring.

When I asked her what the weather for Belgium in September, she laughed and said, “it can be hot, cold, warm, rainy, or any combination of the above.

You should be prepared to experience each and every one of these on any trip that is longer than a week.” Since this trip for 14 days. I made sure to note that bit of information and applied it to my travel capsule selections.

She said first do not forget a light jacket because even if it doesn’t get cool during the day, it will definitely cool down at night.

Plan a handful of bottoms, with a handful of tops and make sure that they can all be mixed, matched, and layered.

The style in Belgium is pretty relaxed, yet put together. A dress or two is a good idea to include in your travel capsule wardrobe just in case it gets cold (I included one versatile dress that looks good with everything).

Then pick some shoes and accessories and you are good to go.

For travel shoe options I debated on including the sandals, or swapping them out for booties. My friend suggested that it would probably be warm enough for sandals since the first half of September is a lot like August.

Ultimately it depends on what your preferences are and what the weather forecast says, because if it is going to be damp and rainy on several days you want to make sure your feet are covered. Keep that in mind when you are planning your Brussels packing list.

This packing list has a little more colour injected to it than usual, but I was feeling it and thought it gave some nice variation and fun my usual neutral wardrobes. Eighteen outfit options can be seen below.

I made this capsule wardrobe for two weeks in Belgium in fall. All of the visuals in this post are meant as a guideline to aid you in creating your own Brussels Packing List based on your own clothing, colour preferences, and personal style.
