SHOP THE POST

It’s Sunday afternoon as I wrote this, raining, and we are out of groceries, so now I am patiently waiting for our Pho to be delivered. It’s been a pretty low-key and boring weekend so I don’t have much to talk about unfortunately.

I shipped back my Madewell Boardwalk sandals (that I ordered the wrong size in) last Wednesday and they arrived at their destination in less than 24 hours. Now I just have to wait for them to process the return. Have you had any experiences returning online purchases to Madewell, if so how long does it usually take for them to process a return?

On a positive note the sandals that my U.S. friend ordered me from Poshmark arrived at her place on Thursday and she shipped them to me on Friday. She just lives across the U.S./Canadian border so I am hoping they arrive Tuesday-ish even though this week is predicted to be mostly rain and cooler temperatures and I probably won’t be wearing them.

No new purchases this week, but that isn’t for want of looking. I am reigning in the shopping since we have our taxes to pay back, and other debts that I would like to get rid of sooner than later. It will be nice to get everything caught up and have that burden off of our shoulders. Tom has some big shows that he is working on this summer, so while I won’t be seeing him much it should allow us to pay things down quicker. I hear a lot of good things about Dave Ramsey’s method to paying off debt, so has anyone tried it? I’d like to hear about personal experience with it vs online testimonials that can’t always be trusted. If you don’t know what it is, here is a quick article summation.

I am in a HUGE dinner rut. It’s the same things over and over, so I am looking for ideas. I am interested in those types of meal plans that allow you to spend less but make more meals. You know those “a week worth of dinner from one grocery bag” sort of idea? I find I can’t plan well enough and end up spending way too much money and still not have enough food for the week to make a variety of meals.

I need to cut back in food costs because it seems so wasteful to spend that much and still not have a weeks worth of meals. I need to find a way to make the most out of it, if that makes sense. Any suggestions?

    • Thanks so much! I live in this dress now, it’s probably the best purchase I’ve made in a LONG time. The sandals have been kicking around for about 3 years though.
