SHOP THE POST

I am going to have a holiday give away for my Canadian readers this weekend. I don’t know yet if it will be tomorrow or Sunday so keep an eye on your inbox if you subscribe to my blog post emails because it will be in there.

Do you know what I hate? When you are shopping on Amazon and are thinking of buying from a 3rd party seller but it doesn’t list where they ship from. How am I supposed to know if I want standard or expedited shipping if I don’t even know where it is coming from. Does this but anyone else?

I put together a gift guide for some cute, last-minute under $20 gift ideas from Amazon (because of variety, and the ability to order really late and have it still arrive on time). I hope you enjoy my selections 🙂

Weekly Reads (and maybe videos):

  • This is truly one of the best articles I have read on women and self-care. Like it says, “True self-care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t need to regularly escape from.”
  • Did you see who Time’s Person of the Year is? This movement is making me proud and giving me hope.
  • Have you been following this guys Twitter feed? I have it open in a tab just so I make sure not to miss something. There is so much information that it’s easy to get lost but it’s been worth the read.
  • You have only got until Monday to try the new Starbucks holiday Frappe. After the Unicorn frappe debacle I will remain skeptical but reviews sound promising.
  • Diphtheria is back. Why is it back, and what is it. And to go along with that article this post gives you a real perspective of what an outbreak is like. Disclaimer: it’s a sad read.

Weekly Finds:

Make sure to check back this weekend if you are a Canadian reader to enter the giveaway!

  1. Once again, you nailed another uber fun gift guide. I’m having a blast checking everything out.

Don’t tell Mr. K but I bought a small bunch of games and toys for fun on Christmas Day and beyond. I got him a miniature space invaders arcade game, mousetrap, rock ’em/sock ’em, clue and monopoly go games. For me I got a space race pinball toy. I’m so excited.

Now I want that reading bucket scratch card, and well, a bunch of things off your guide.

Meanwhile, your clothing items remind me I have an awesome waisted black velvet jacket, sparkly skinny jeans, and heeled strappy sandals…and absolutely nowhere to where them. 🙁

Are you guys decored up? Are you going to any parties? Going caroling?

    Cheers, Ardith

    • Games are such a fun thing to have around the house. We try to make sure to always have a good collection of games hanging around. I have rock’em sock’em on my wishlist! That’s so funny.

I really want the scratch card too. I think it would be a fun way to add some books that I may not normally read into my life. It could be a like a goal for the year to scratch them all off.

We’ve been decored up since around the middle of November. We like to get it all done early and enjoy it for as long as we can because it’s depressing when you have to box it all up for next year. I’d keep the tree up all year if I could.

There aren’t any big plans but Merle’s 7th birthday is this Thursday and she wants to hit up the monster exhibit at the Art Gallery and go to the Christmas Market. That will probably be the biggest things we do. We have an outdoor ice skating rink right across the street so we’ll probably do that a few times as well even though it has been forever since I’ve skated :/

  2. Seth Abrahamson is the best! Absolutely the guy to follow right now. I’m not sure I can always keep it open though, since I go nuts over politics plenty of minutes each day without adding more. But that IS a good idea!

Oh, and I love those coasters and have added them to my Amazon wish list.

    • I’ve lost too much time to even bother keeping track of just going through that thread. This whole shit is so crazy and I can’t look away.
