Honeymoon packing list 🙂 I guess I could totally leave the honeymoon part out since what you pack for your honeymoon is basically the same as what you would pack for a vacation, but I thought I would throw that in because this request is for a honeymoon at the end of September. They are travelling to Italy covering the above cities. Sounds fab and with great weather.

These three cities generally have a similar range in temperature at this time of year. You are looking at a daytime high of low 20’s (in celsius) and a day/night time low of the lower-teens (and if the day is lower the night will guaranteed be even less).

These weather predictions are according to accuweather (I checked all three and averaged it out). The weather is so bizarre right now that I don’t pay attention to the historical averages. I just look at what the weather network for the weeks following up to the trip say it is going to be.

The pieces I chose for this Italy packing list can be layered up or down because which is important because the mornings will starts cool, then warm up in the afternoon, only to drop down again at night and you need to have things that layer.

Light jacket(s), light sweaters, t-shirts, blouses that you can roll the cuffs or tie at the waist, some easy to wear bottoms, a couple of dresses, and a variety of shoes are what I chose.

A tank top is a good idea because they are perfect for layering under other pieces, but also can be worn alone if it gets hot.

You can easily toss a scarf over your shoulders or a sweater if you need to cover up for more modest tourist places. (plus, layering under sweaters keep them fresher longer).

The cardigan I chose is a wrap style that you can leave open or tie at the waist and use as a shirt.

Versatility is important when wanting to pack light. Pieces that are convertible, or that you can change around to get a few different looks are a great choice. I also find that including several black pieces make things easier because a black outfit instantly looks chic (even with minimal effort).

Stick to mostly neutrals and then add one or two pieces in a bold colour or great print. This will help to break up the monotony of a seemingly neutral wardrobe.*

*The requestee is only 5’0 so I tried to include pieces that would work on a shorter frame. I’m 5’3″ and even I have issues with pants and the awkward length of some shirts, dresses, and skirts.

I chose pants that are an ankle skimming or cropped version (or won’t look funny if they get cut off or shortened). None of the tops or sweaters are too long that it will hang too low and look frumpy or like you are wearing a dress.

I chose jackets that cut directly at the lower waist/hip area, and several pieces tie, or button around the waistline to give a more defined waist. I threw in an extra dress because I figured since it was a honeymoon you might pick fancier dinner places that require something a little dressier.

But if that isn’t the case then you could easily omit the second dress and/or add a skirt instead if you wanted to cut back or change it up. At this time of year when it can be hot one day and cold the next I wanted to make sure there were enough options just in case.

I hope this gives some ideas and congratulations on your marriage and honeymoon 🙂

Also remember that your travel outfit (including travel shoes) comes from the selection above. They are not pieces added in addition to, so wear your less easy to pack items to save room in your suitcase.

The travel outfit ideas for these pieces can be found in this post.

Side note: I made a completely fantastic Curry Chicken Salad from Budget Bytes. It’s so good I almost ate the whole batch tonight which is why I am mentioning it. If you love curry and chicken salad this is for you.
