The Best of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (well, according to me)

I don’t usually post on Sunday’s but we had a really full day yesterday and Tom had to work today so I really didn’t feel like leaving the house. For part of our outing yesterday I made Tom take us to the “expensive” mall so I could go through Nordstrom and check out the sale pieces in person. I’m not going to lie, I was hoping I would see the Topshop cardigan that I wanted but they didn’t have it and since it is now sold out online (it might get restocked, fingers crossed) and we only have two Nordstroms here (only 5 in Canada total) I am admitting defeat and I am probably SOL on this pick.

I am going to round-up some of my favourites by category based partly on my personal tastes and partly on seeing most of them in person yesterday. But before I do that I am going to talk about how easy it is to get sidetracked there. And how easy it is to fall in love with pieces that are completely and utterly out of my price range. First was an Acne leather jacket. This jacket has officially become my dream jacket in which I will add to my fantasy wish list. The other one is Golden Goose sneakers which I tried on and didn’t want to take off. I hate trying stuff on with no intent to buy but in reality these two pieces combined equal to more than my whole wardrobe so they are going to have to remain in my “wishful thinking” spot for a while longer;)

Now on to my best of Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 picks:

Boots and Shoes

Purses and Bags

Jackets

Dresses and Jumpsuits

Fall Tops and Bottoms

Accessories

  1. I love those angel studded boots, Sara. And heck, you may as well at least try on those uber dream items (like that leather jacket, gasp). Why not find out what they feel and look like on you? I think just to experience them is worthwhile.

I’m really enjoying perusing your pix here, FYI. Meanwhile, I just bought this beauty on the Nordstrom Rack site @ . It rounds out my romantic/boho/peasant blouse additions quite nicely.

Once I’m done looking through this curation of yours, I’m off to take a look at your latest post. Cheers, Ardith

    • I LOVE that one. I have been looking for a peasant blouse with crochet inserts like that. We don’t have a Nordstrom Rack here though 🙁

The leather jacket was to die for, they had one with a red lining too. I loved the contrast, it was so lush. So I was walking around checking everything out and I see people with bags and bags of things and I think how it would be nice for one day to know what it felt like to be able to go in and shop freely without having to be concerned with finances or a budget. Not that I would ever need that many clothes that they all probably own I’d just like to know what it felt like. You know?

There were so many great things, even in the kids department. I could have easily set Tom up at the bar on the 2nd floor and shopped for hours. I stayed too long in there and forgot to pop in to Anthropologie while I was there. Now I am kicking myself because I haven’t been in to an anthro in ages.

  2. I’m with you, I don’t see needing or wanting a ton of clothes, etc. But it could be fun to get to experience it at some point. I’d be happy with a handful of designer items like that biker jacket. But I’m happy for those who can afford that type of lifestyle.

I’d love to join you to check out Anthro, I haven’t been to an actual store in years. I used to love taking my time to see everything there. It’s a visual and tactile feast.

  3. Sara! First time commenting, but I love your blog! I shopped during the Pre Sale last week and purchased a few of the items you chose. The long Topshop camel coat and the Rag & Bone jeans have already arrived. After reading your post I had to return and purchase the Quay sunnies. I considered them before (and I own a pair of Quay glasses already) but seeing them here sealed the deal! Thanks for all the thought and creativity you put into all of your posts!

    • Thanks so much for the comment Denise! I’m so envious that you were able to get that sweater. I was extremely disappointed when I went to my local store and there were none. How were the R&G jeans? I suck at buying jeans online so I always have to make sure I try them on. I think I tried on 12 pairs last Saturday. As for sunglasses I love Quay. I swear every time I find a pair of sunnies I like online they turn out to be Quay. At least my taste is consistent 😉

I’m trying to talk the hubby in to going back to Nordstrom after dinner. It might work if I tell him they have a bar on the second floor 🙂 I’m saving that bit of info as a last resort.

      Have a great weekend!
