I got sucked into an internet hole on the theory of Edgar Allan Poe potentially having a time machine. It’s fascinating stuff and because I would love to use a time machine, I really want to believe that he did actually have one. A funny thing when I get lost in these internet holes (usually a Wikipedia hole) is that no matter what I start looking at, for some reason or another I end up at the page for a monarch in British history. It’s so bizarre. I started with Edgar Allan Poe and ended up at Edward the Black Prince this time. I can’t even pinpoint where my path changed. It’s fun though, and I do it often.

This first week in April was typically Canadian. Friday I had to break out the winter coats again, while today I am wearing a summer dress. And this is one of the reasons that strictly seasonal capsules don’t work for me. Things just change too fast, and too often to keep only one season in my closet at a time. I remember eons ago in college there was a ridiculously hot day in April (30+°C) and it brought everyone out that night in hordes. I was wearing a long, sarong type skirt, with a tank top, my trusty jean jacket (which I still have), and some platform sandals (early 2000’s fashion). All the patios at the clubs were open and flooded with people so we went to a strictly indoor dance club. When we left at 2am it was snowing. I had to walk home in a summer outfit in a blizzard and it was brutal. It was only about 2 miles but it sucked bad even though I was loaded at the time which I am sure helped to keep me warmer. I learned to pay attention to the weather carefully after that.

I almost forgot that Easter was coming up. Am I the only one that doesn’t really like it and wish that we never really turned it into a celebrated holiday with the kids? (Aside from those that celebrate for religious purposes. It obviously has a completely different meaning than the Easter bunny does). I had to go out and do a quick easter run on Saturday while Tom was home so I don’t have to worry about it last minute. And since there is generally at least one kid with me 24/7 it makes it hard to be a super sneaky present buyer. Next thing you know, it’s going to be time to start buying Christmas presents again :/

Hope you all have a great (and productive) week!
