What to Pack for a Business Trip – Packing Light

I should call this What to Pack Wednesday but that would be too much pressure to compile packing lists on a weekly basis 😉 But I do have a new list today by request. I received an email asking if I had done any business casual lists yet, I replied that I had not but would be willing to give it a shot if she wanted me to. There were a few requirements to work around to make this work for her as best possible. One was is that she is in her 30’s and is petite therefore looking a lot younger than she is, so she wanted to be dressed so that she would be taken seriously. Two, her days were filled with meetings and night-time was business dinners. This means that she had to have enough clothes that would transition from day to night without looking like she was always wearing the same thing. There were also an outfit (or two) for travel needed. She wasn’t going to have much free time to tour about so she didn’t need a lot of casual clothes. If your business trip also allows you to have free time then you can easily make some casual outfit options from this list. This list was specified for Toronto at this time of the year, so your clothing choices would vary depending on where your trip was going to be.

All that is needed are a few shirts, a couple of sweaters, dress pants, skirt, jeans, a versatile dress, a coat, and 3 pairs of shoes (flats, heels, and booties). All these pieces can be combined together to form many options. The outfit options for this list will be in the next post.
