Today is one of those days. It is overcast with a high risk of thunderstorms. Yay! (not sarcasm), The temperature is hot and humid again so I don’t even want to open the windows even though the sound of rain is one of my favourite things. I can feel a headache brewing which I hope passes because I don’t have any Advil left.

The girls are in their room quietly playing video games which never happens, I don’t think they even know how to whisper. And Tom is sleeping because he didn’t get home from work until 5am, so I decided this afternoon was a good time to sit down with a cup of coffee and try to get today’s blog post up.

Last post I showed you a packing light, packing list for Amsterdam, Netherlands. Today I am going to show you how you can work that list into outfits. I made 12 different outfits from the list with room to make more. As always you pick the bulkiest items on your list to wear the day of travel to lighten your suitcase.

Amsterdam is a country with my ideal temperatures. It’s average temperature in January is 3°C and in August is only 17°C making this an extremely temperature place without any temperatures being too cold or too hot. Perfect for touring. The items in this list are similar to what I would pack if I was going to Amsterdam in the next couple of months.

The current temperature there is 15°C which is perfect for fall wardrobes, just don’t forget an umbrella since this is a rainy season. Rain will never detour me from touring a city but it may some.

Amsterdam has 75 museums in the city, the Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank House being two of them. This is my history paradise and if I could get away with it I would probably see them all. My oldest and I have discussed Anne Frank on many occasions. I still debate whether she is old enough for the book yet because I badly want her to read it. Experiencing Anne Frank’s House after that would be both deeply profound and immensely sad. It would be one of those experiences you remember for life.

I would also love to take some boat tours through the canals and definitely rent some bikes to ride through the city. I have read that Amsterdam bikers are scarier than cars so we would definitely need to read up on biking etiquette in the city. To me visiting a city is not about seeing it from the eyes of a tourist but living it like the life of local.
