I have debated some new spring/summer flats for a while, but I kept coming back to the Zig Zag D’orsay Flats by Moorea Seal. I liked the colours, leather, ankle straps, and that they are made with different textiles so no two pair are alike. Moorea Seal is also donates 7% of all proceeds from their store to benefit five non-profit categories, that are close to their hearts. What more can you ask for? The only problem I had, was deciding which of the three D’orsay flats I wanted. There is the Zig Zag, the San Juan, and the Animal. In the end I decided I wanted a black leather and went with the Zig Zag.

It was kind of exciting because I didn’t know what the pair I ordered were going to look like. I knew what colours could be included, but not what the dominant colour would be. It was kind of like not finding out the gender of your baby. I kid. It’s not really the same although I didn’t know the gender of Roo and it drove me insane. INSANE.

I placed my order on March 11th late in the evening and the next day I got my shipping notification. They shipped from Seattle, and my geography focused mind assumed that the best route that United States Postal Service USPS would take would be for them to cross the border into Vancouver and airmail to Toronto from there. Logic tells me that would have been the quickest route. But no, not my shoes. They decided to take a tour of the U.S. going from Seattle, to Los Angeles, to Forth Worth, to Louisville, and only then did they decide to come to Toronto. They then got to spend the weekend in customs for shits and giggles much to my chagrin.

They arrived Monday March 23rd which is actually pretty quick when you think of all the places they visited. When I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised that they came in a purple draw string bag instead of a box (I forgot to take a picture of it). The girls promptly began to fight over who gets the bag. Like they need another bag to fill with crap to tote around the condo. I ended the fight quickly by informing them that I am keeping the bag to hold my shoes. Drumroll for the colour of my new shoes………..

A pink and golden-yellow stripe and I love them. I nice surprise was to see the textile toe is actually lined with leather making them very durable and they will hold to your feet. I would say this style would fit average to narrow feet, the toes are pinto and snug but will stretch out a little. The only issues I have is that I need to punch another hole in the ankle strap. But that is a super skinny ankle issue and has nothing to do with the shoes. I have to do the same thing with leather watch bands too. If only I had that issue with my waistline and belts.  Behold some crappily taken photos of my feet on my balcony.
